I paid £2.50 a while ago and only had one search, can you please let me know what you actually get for £2.50. I thought I could have up to ten searches.
I'm interested in using your site and quite happy to pay £2.50 for 10 but the way the system runs, at present I have to pay £2.50 for 4 entries of one surname and then another £2.50 for 1 other surname etc. Is this right? Can we not add up all the surnames I want and then pay the correct amount at the end?
The basic search unit costs £2.50 and will allow you to receive up to 10 results. 11-20 results would cost £3.50 and so on. There is no facility for aggregating searches to get 10 results from different searches. To create this function we would need to keep your personal data on the site. In the interests of data security we have decided against such a function.
I have searched your site and received a positive result which I was informed would be emailed following payment via PayPal. This was done but no email received.
How do I retrieve my search results? Receipt no 4586-2550-4331-4875. I got this after paying but no results.
If you have been returned to the Site and seen your results on screen and received confirmation from PayPal then you should receive our e-mail in confirmation. If this does not arrive please contact me and I will send you a copy. The sending of the e-mail is an automatic procedure following a successful payment and I always get a copy as a back-up. Occasionally PayPal is somewhat slow in returning the searcher to our site and the search criteria can get lost and the search fail – this can happen if a key is pressed during the delay. If you do not see your results on screen please contact me with your search criteria and I will happily carry out the search for you and send on the results.
I've just been on your marriage index and just ordered a marriage will it have the Parish on it where they lived?
In most cases if a place of origin is mentioned in the register entry it will be included in the index. There is an exception with some of the County Durham parishes transcribed by the late Bill Rounce and I am hoping to get around to correcting this exception.
I have been exploring this site. I noticed that the fee for the information is 3.5 pounds. I found 18 Jones, is this the total cost to get all this information re marriages.

I have made and paid for several searches in the recent past. However, I can retrieve only one of them.
You may be outside the time for which the search results are kept. For each paid search you will need to log in separately for the results as you need both your e-mail address AND to password you received with the e-mail to log in.
Hello, I successfully purchased 3 marriage records (in 3 transactions) using my PayPal account which uses my Amex credit card. But my 4th transaction (for 2 marriage records) said I could not use that credit card. Why?
We have found this happening on a couple of occasions. It is NOT a function of our site. I am afraid you must take the matter up with PayPal.
Do the actual parish records that you indexed contain more information than is sent by email when purchased? I am particularly interested in the parents of the bride & groom, their ages at marriage, witnesses, professions, condition on marriage, residence. If they contain more info, how can I get a copy of it?
The e-mail contains ALL the information we hold in the index. This is not necessarily the total of the data held for the event. This is why we recommend that searchers always get a photocopy of the register entry from the Record Office which holds the register. This should be considered as best practice in any research as our index should be considered a secondary or tertiary source.
There are over 200 marriages shown. I would like to purchase them please.
We have placed an upper limit on searches from the site. This is not done to discourage anyone. The average search cost over a year is just over £3.00 so there are not many searches revealing larger numbers than 20 or 30 marriages. If you want a large number, or a one-name study collection please contact me.
I have paid for the results but they have been sent to my old e mail address so I cannot see them.
Please ensure that the e-mail address you use with PayPal is the one to which you want the results to go as our confirmation e-mail is sent to that address.
